Blump

Blump is a bike shop management platform, designed and developed by a group of cycling enthusiasts. For its first major launch, the startup didn’t have a dedicated product or design process and resulted in a highly functional platform but with several usability errors and the potential to bear an incredible experience and interface.

The process started with field research focusing on the three main personas identified in the project: Cyclist, Mechanic and Store Manager. The research was complemented by a heuristic analysis (Nielsen). From the discoveries and interface evaluation, we created new service blueprints aiming at the three most likely scenarios of interaction between the cyclist and the two personas of the store.

For cyclists, we focused on the ease of registering and updating information and components of their bikes, as well as monitoring ongoing services and communicating with the store.

Mechanics needed better tools to update service progress status, in addition to communicating directly with customers. These tasks had to be done more quickly and on the go.

For the manager, we designed an administrative panel with a dashboard, service inbox, notification, complete monitoring of in-store maintenance, among other management tools.

A total of 5 interfaces were developed for the platform, aiming at the web and mobile experience for cyclists and mechanics and the administrative panel of managers.
